Happy holydays everyone, isn't the festive season just out of this world....how are you spending your's? well for me its that time for  family and friends, the only time you give them endless attention and just relax and be at ease. Its during this season i decided to go all out with the 80's look, the hair and the whole outfit. Peplum dresses and tops were popular in the 1940s, and had a huge revival in the 1980s, so if you’re after a more 40s style you can often pick up 80s dresses for next to nothing at any flea markets or vintage shops  and you can make em to your taste and style and with the right hair and accessories they look amazing.
This electric green peplum dress was originally very long, so I decided to make it a party dress and made it shorter, take a look at my previous post, i made a scarf out of the extra material.
I really love this white croc skin peep toe platforms but i never get to wear them much.....they pretty high but suprisingly comfortable. I like the metallic pink heel.
I went for an 80's hah irdo.....i really love the big hair bun that i made, then complemented it with a crimson red lip and an emerald blue bib necklace.
I wanted a tiny briefcase-ish purse and this really went well my ka dress.
Finished it off with this white button earrings.

One of those chilly days that i decided to unleash this trench dress hat I have neglected for quite a while now.....I got it more than 3 years ago and its one of those statement pieces that never go out of style.
Pardon me...i took pics when it was quite late and they are a lil bit dark....but well they will serve the purpose
I love the vintage feeling to it and the huge button details
I did minimal accessories so i decided to incorporate these teal pearls in my hair....and i plaited it into the pony tail then added a tangerine hair band.
I topped the accessories up with an electric green scarf and yellow beaded earrings from New Blakk Accessories. I added a paisely scarf to the bag to add some oooomph to it.

This special date, my friends and I decided to visit a children's home we had visited a couple of years ago just to check up on them and celebrate Jamhuri day with the kids. It was really a touching and an awesome experience, we really had fun. Here are some of the pics
Each of the hand print represent each kid...nice huh! Below are their sleeping quaters, we made a pact to go back and buy them storage boxes.
Can't remember what we were all staring at....below....their kitchen
Muthoni....one of the babies of the house...she has adorable eyes
and there were lots of games.....including football....and we literally played...yes..including yours truly

I have to say....i really love polka dots, theres just something about them that calls out to me, i find them fun and a teeney lil bit flirty in their own twisted way.
Thats why I mixed different polka dots in this outfit, the black on white in the blouse and the white on teal in the shoes
I have had these pants for a long time now, since '08 and i find them to be classic vintage and you can wear them in many different ways and they still don't go out of style.
I have to confess am currently obcessed with these shoes.....oh so cute and these  earrings, i find them to be just bold especially when i have my hair in a pony
I finished it off with a crimson red chain bag and minimal accessories so as not to compete with  the busy fabric

I always find the boudoir family quite sexy and its only ideal for me to love lace. Its one of those fabrics thats here to stay and will always re occur in runways time after time.
The skirt i have done it before in a post before so this time i decided to spice the outfit up and pair it with this black lace blouse.
I added a neon pink belt to bring that pop of color
Then.....i carried this white vintage bag with flame details and finished it off with these orange suede bow heels
Then my oh so lovely kitenge earrings from Bri's African Relics collection

The beauty of a tuxedo jacket its the versatility it brings to the table. This jacket can be worn from the formal day in the office to casual friday to the weekend with a pair of denim to literally anything else possible. This piece was originally masculine until the softer feminine vibe came into trend.
What i love about mine is the houndstooth print on it. I find it tricky to wear the print so i decided to go for nudes and whites because of its busy print.
I have had these pants for quite a while and they used to have suspenders until i chopped them off. I love the highwaisted feel to the them as they elongate my torso and shape it.
Then i topped it off with my crimson envelope clutch. I tend to to find red complimenting prints that are black and white.
                                                               CLOSET:
                                                               Blazer- Toi Market
                                                               Pants- Paulo's
                                                               Polka wedges- Erico's collection
                                                               Envelope clutch- Maurice & Jodeci
                                                               White blouse- Thrifted

How are you good people, am hoping you had an awesome weekend. Mine was quite a mixture of sorts but yesterday crowned my weekend up. I met my gals and its never anything short of amaze balls when we get to catch up and all esp since one of us just jetted back into the country from abroad.
I decided to do a lil bit of everything, color, demin, the sweater, nautical stripes.....
I love this tangerine capris.....and I paired em with this turqoise knit sweater that is quite my fave knit oflate
I had a nautical hi-low stripped shirt inside and it was quite chillly in the evening so the sweater came in handy and I totally forgot to take it off as i was taking the pics. I then added a neon pink scarf to add some color and ummmph to it.
And finally my geeks and a janelle monae inspired hairstyle, then my nude and white sling backs. And oh....not forgetting the teal purse.
My sweater is baggy and it looked funny when i tucked it in, but i did not want to belt it up so i added a brooch at the back.

Hallo hallo y'all.... well today is my birthday and can't believe how the year has ran out so fast. Wow and a year older, and as am aging i notice my style is too getting more refined and am doing lots of growing sexy outfits. If only i had a blog years ago, you'd see why. But, am liking it as i still try to incorporate my evolving style into it.
I came across this denim skirt in my thrifting escapades and was so drawn to it. It was once size bigger and i got my tailor to resize it to my specifications. I wanted high waist and fitting but not tight and this is the end result.
I loved the button detail and wrap effect of the skirt paired it up with white ruffled blouse and my all time favorite cobalt blue platforms.
I added the multi- colored oversized purse and colored blocked earrings to add some oomph and color to the outfit

Hi y'all feels like a minute but got down with a bout of flu last week and it was the worst i have ever had. But am fine and am believing you to be fab too.
Well i finally got to do my hair and i went for something very simple that i can play around with.
I got this denim shirt dress in Machakos as i was visiting home a few weeks ago and i could not wait to dress it up. There are countless ways to wear this dress and i will break it down for you as time goes by.
I wore it simply just like a dress, buttoned it up and added a gold collar necklace to spruce up the outfit
I added a pop of color with the tangerine tassel earrings and held my hair up in a side pony and roped it up.
Finished it off with these bronze peep toe ankle boots from chinese laundry with ruffles and carried a brown leather bag

On my previous post 'DRESSING FOR THE COLD PART1, I illustrated how you can wear your sweater with a long skirt. Well, this post is about the sweater and your denim jeans
Am not really fun of denim jeans but well you can always add some fun to them. I rolled up the ankles and wore this black ankle brogues to add some ruggedness and edgy to the outfit.
I like this turquoise sweater (I know i know.... am obsessed with turquoise) I can't help it. I made it a high low since the jeans are high waisted. This time i went with color to accessorise the sweater unlike my last post where i had bling on. I got this floral scarf and a lesso bow and a orange ring. little pops of color that add a difference. The colored bangles and the earrings with a chain tassel.
Then finally this white croc skin purse that i have been ignoring it for a while in my closet.
