Happy new week my good people, My name is Maureen and I am obsessed with stripes....I seriously cannot keep my hands off. I have blogged about these pants before here and this time round I decided to combine it with neon accents.
A simple luminous green blouse seemed to be my perfect choice...then I added little pops of neon pink with the earrings and the heart shaped purse
Finished it off with these cobalt blue platforms with the matching bib necklace and my lovely animal print geeks and a red bold lip.
What do you think of my outfit....drop me a line below!

Kisses,
ChezMaureen!

The days that fashion overwhelms me and I find myself trying stuff that are out of my comfort zone....but then it would never be fashion wouldn't it?. It was quite a dull cold day so I decided to do a lil' bit of layering with little gothic accents
I L.O.V.E houndstooth print and been on a hunt for a skirt or short for a while and when I got it, I could not wait to style it. I went all retro with the black sweater and tucked it in since its super big. I complemented the look with a  plum rich tone and added gold accessories. You never go wrong with red with black and white prints....so I added a crimson belt then finished if off with black leggings.
This shoes are so vavavum....I do not know what to call them but they are a cross breed of platforms with maryjanes. But I sure loved the polka dots.....Oh and they are super comfortable....they are so weird I could't help loving 'em and I thought they really complemented the hounds tooth print.
I kept the rest of my accessories minimal...

This was a simple outfit for one of those hot days, we have bee experiencing *before the rain started in the evening and i freezed to bits* I forgot my jacket and well, i paid for it with the case of the chillys. Anywho, I went for a high- low black sheer vest and denim jeans.
The accessories were color popping, to add an ooomph to the dull outfit and make it more glam without doing too much!
Am in love with this purple pinkish lipstick, I added the neon pink earrings to complement it
The oversize floral purse...is a carry it all though....the arms tire very fast, its overly fit for most occasions even night events!
Finally, the bronze ruffled peeptoe booties,I thought the peep toe would show some skin especially since i was basically covered up.

Honestly, I am obsessed with this summer trend......STRIPES. Not only are they adorable and chic, they add that bold and daring element to your look. I recently just bought these pants, ofcos I was concerned I might end up looking like a jailbird but the eclectic part of me had to have em.
I first spotted nautical vertical striped pants on Elle MacPhearson in the fashion star reality show and since then being hoping to get me a perfect pair. They are really dramatic trousers and definitely make a statement. I was concerned about looking like a jailbird but the eclectic side of to me won over so i had to add it in my closet.
I always find black and white goes well with bold hues so i went for the red cropped jacket and a bold bronze neck piece.

I kept the accessories to a minimal and added a non competing blue woven purse
I did a black tank and black booties so as not to compete with the stripes, then
a tangerine hair bow

Black and white is one of the biggest 2013 tend and I find myself subconsciously buying lots of it in my closet, so I fully intend to indulge in this trend fully. I came across this stripped maxi in my thrifting endeavours sometime in december and I knew exactly how I wanted to wear it. I believe every girl should have atleast one maxi in their wardrobe especially as a summer staple.Originally the dress was flared so i decided to  alter it a little bit at the bottom half and make it more pencil shaped.I went for the horizontal stripes as they tend to elongate my curves as am quite petite.
I went for the horizontal stripes as they enhance my curves as am quite petite. A  fitting maxi  is better than a tight hugging maxi as it may look tacky if care is not taken.
I went for a more demure and edgy feeling to dress it, the denim cropped jacket was to give it a more relaxed look. The black ankle brogues are just my favourite go to flatties. Well, most of my friends tend to find them quite ugly but i love the way they can change your look in a snap and i find them to be very stylish, vintagey and unique.
I went for pops of color in styling my hair to bring some ooommmph to the outfit. I did a combo of two scarves, orange with black polka and an electric magenta one. The accessories were minimal, a red and bronze pedant neckpiece and butter yellow loops.
The bag is a vintage from my mums 80's closet and am currently in love with these  avatars

Happy holydays everyone, isn't the festive season just out of this world....how are you spending your's? well for me its that time for  family and friends, the only time you give them endless attention and just relax and be at ease. Its during this season i decided to go all out with the 80's look, the hair and the whole outfit. Peplum dresses and tops were popular in the 1940s, and had a huge revival in the 1980s, so if you’re after a more 40s style you can often pick up 80s dresses for next to nothing at any flea markets or vintage shops  and you can make em to your taste and style and with the right hair and accessories they look amazing.
This electric green peplum dress was originally very long, so I decided to make it a party dress and made it shorter, take a look at my previous post, i made a scarf out of the extra material.
I really love this white croc skin peep toe platforms but i never get to wear them much.....they pretty high but suprisingly comfortable. I like the metallic pink heel.
I went for an 80's hah irdo.....i really love the big hair bun that i made, then complemented it with a crimson red lip and an emerald blue bib necklace.
I wanted a tiny briefcase-ish purse and this really went well my ka dress.
Finished it off with this white button earrings.

Oh my its been rainy chaos offlate and the cold is not making the blues better. Well i decided to show you how to look stylish in this cold weather. Starting up is DRESSING THE SWEATER. You can add a sweater to your ensemble and loook really chic in it. Take a look how i did it:
I paired up this navy blue high low sweater with this DIY turqoise green high waist trouser skirt. Initially it was a vintage dress but i decided to cut of the top and make it a skirt and voila! i came up with this skirt.
I had a hot pink vest inside since it was really off shoulder and i needed a popping color to add some ummph to it.
A slit always gives some sexy vibe to any skirt and i loved the one on this skirt, especially because i could walk in this pencil one.
Remember to always add some hot heels when u are wearing such skirts because you can end up looking frumpy in flats especially for the pint sized gals like yours truly here.
Remember to over accessorise your sweater. Add as much bling as you can
And finally i got this vintage Chloe bag. I so love the purple with the gold details then this gold peep toe platforms.

Hello fashion rangers, one more day to go and its the weekend....woop woop i can hardly wait. I have been doing lots of girly looks lately so this day, i decided to get in touch with my eclectic side of style.  Its a look i have done before sometime last year when the boyfriend
trousers were so in trend.... but well...fashion is timeless.
Lets get to the dish on my outfit. Am not really a denim jeans girl....i own like 3 pairs, this one was a gift from my cousin who got it from Italy its a united colors of benetton brand. She didn't know what to do with it and i was glad to show her how to wear it. As is the case with boyfriend jeans, i rolled them up to form a cuff upto my ankles and they should fit through the hips and thighs. Since my jeans were a lil' snug, i went for an oversize classic white boyfriend shirt....then i rolled them sleeves up to give a more relaxed yet feminine feeling away from the masculinity of the whole oufit.
I added a Moschino belt to give a touch of casualness to the jeans, then a pop of color with my Aldo hot pink pumps and finished it off with a vintage black chain bag i got from my mums 80's closet. Take a look i accessorised the bag with a pinch of scarf and tied to form a bow on it. I went for a Janelle monae hairstyle and rolled my braids to a turban like style

Happy belated new month y'all, i have been quite lost and i really missed blogging, i think i am getting the hang of it nowadays and its getting to be part of my daily do's. Have you ever felt like the days are just rushing and you have no idea how its happening? i have been in one of those lately, i still can't believe its August but am really looking forward for the sweet summer, i have incredible outfits to try on.  Its really a frustrating time as the weather is transitioning from cold to the summer especially if you get caught up in some impromptu rain showers you did not anticipate. Well this was one of those days i wasn't sure of the weather so i decided to go for this 60s inspired retro dress.
I liked it because of the vintagey feeling it exudes, the midi length and pleated bottom is so 1960s. I considered tailoring the length and making it shorter but was like nah.....i will go with it just as it is.
Thats why i paired it up with black tights and the high heeled brogues to add me some height otherwise flat shoes would make it look frumpy because of the heavy bottom of the dress. The fabric feels like a cotton blend and it has a cream colored attached collar and lapels on the sleeves and the bodice closes with a black colored button.
I kept the accessories simple and did white pearls, to add an elegant look for the whole outfit, my baby blue loops  and an amber orange chain bag. I roped my braids sideways to keep it simple. Well i got to say i was warm the rest of the day and i did not need a sweater, cover up or scarf and when the sun was out i was still cool because of the cotton fabric.
