Happy new year friends.....well i think its too belated for that now, especially since its the last day of January, who is feeling all good riddance to the month like me....yep t'was really a crazy month, aren't I glad its over. One thing i love about January though, its the best time of the year to go for accessory, shoes and outfit shopping. You might think am cuckoo for saying that but picture this, after the crazy December hiked up prices and with people overspending over the holidays.......merchants are willing to sell their wares at a bargainable price because not a lot of peeps are shopping at this time.
Well, onto my outfit......This is an outfit I wore for lunch with a good friend. I have had this skirt for a while but i just never had the perfect top to pull it with. So when I was closet cleaning the other day, I came across this stripped body con dress (yes its a dress) and I thought it would be a match, and I was right. It was fitting and ideal for such a skirt since it has lots of drama and puffiness.
I am so in love with the bows at the back....its sooo unexpected
I finished off the look with a bold crimson red color, in the platforms and geeks. I wanted the geeks for a more playful finish. Then, a floral belt and a weaved multicolored purse, and a hint of neon green with the bib necklace. I held my hair in a pony and complemented it with these sky blue loops.

Coco Chanel, one of my style icons, perhaps said it best: "Women think of all colors except the absence of color. I have said that black has it all. ... [Its] beauty is absolute. It is the perfect harmony." Everyone looks amazing in black, it is elegant and chic; black is slimming; black looks good on all skin tones; black looks good with all hair colors; black looks as good on men as it does on women. The dress code makes clothes buying and getting dressed in the morning easier.
One thing you should put in mind while pulling together an all black outfit is, vary the fabrics and in my case, i went for a sheer oversized blouse with spandex leggings. My shoes were patent leather Louboutins so I figured out pointy heels would balance off the outfit.
Another advantage with going for a lack outfit is you are allowed to go all out with your accessories, you can pull a bold color or just go for less but visible  bronze accessories as I did. The neckpiece is a converted chain belt. I had a bold red lip and statement bronze earrings
Oh yea, this blouse has a hood.....how retro is that?
This is a very simple look, anyone can pull it, and if you arent a heels person you can go for some nice flatties. You can turn it into a party outfit or an everyday simple go to look, amazing isn't it?

This past Saturday was my birthday and boy did I have a moment. Its one of those eerie feelings when you get to reflect how far you have come, what is done and yet to be done. The people in my life, who mean the world to me and just a thank you note for all you out there who believe in me and are super fans of my blog......God bless you all.
When it comes to my fashion sense....as i grow older, so does it, and I find myself getting attracted to more demure, classic feel of style. The secret is always to embrace it rather than dress for the wrong age.
In this outfit post, I saw myself going for a neon lace pink skirt, something i have not done in a very long while. To avoid feeling all skimpy, i paired it up with an oversize white sheer lace top to balance off the outfit. I grabbed my cobalt blue court heels and a gold clutch and I was ready to shwish the day away.
The accessories comprised of cobalt blue pearls turn to a bracelet, a bronze belt turned to a bracelet and a boyfriend watch. Then, a color blocked neckpiece and gold clutch both gifted by my dear, sweet friend and fellow fashionista julez from a trip to Thailand.
                                                                    CLOSET:
                                                                    Neon pink mini- H&M

Happy Friday my good people......mmmh the smell of the weekend just drifting and I could not be happier....you know what am talking about! Lets talk fashion....right?
This is an outfit I wore last friday on my way to run a few errands....I have wrote about this maxi before in my blog archives,. so this time I decided to add a touch of boho and a lil' glam to it and brought in the cropped top with the pop of color and the accessories. I love how such a tops can change an outfit in a snap...I wore mine off shoulder for that peekaboo effect on the maxi.
I had a thought to cinch it up at the waist but decided against it at the last minute.
I held my hair up in a high pony to show off this gorge emerald green drop earrings and added this cobalt blue bib necklace.
Finished it off with a bold red lip, black booties and this magenta satchel bag!

The days that fashion overwhelms me and I find myself trying stuff that are out of my comfort zone....but then it would never be fashion wouldn't it?. It was quite a dull cold day so I decided to do a lil' bit of layering with little gothic accents
I L.O.V.E houndstooth print and been on a hunt for a skirt or short for a while and when I got it, I could not wait to style it. I went all retro with the black sweater and tucked it in since its super big. I complemented the look with a  plum rich tone and added gold accessories. You never go wrong with red with black and white prints....so I added a crimson belt then finished if off with black leggings.
This shoes are so vavavum....I do not know what to call them but they are a cross breed of platforms with maryjanes. But I sure loved the polka dots.....Oh and they are super comfortable....they are so weird I could't help loving 'em and I thought they really complemented the hounds tooth print.
I kept the rest of my accessories minimal...
                                           CLOSET:
                                           Checkered short- H&M
                                           Knit sweater- Thrifted

Hey dolls...... Happy new week.....Its amazing how time is flying, days seem to just fly by....still cannot believe we in May....yea almost half way. Well the weather is amaze.....its a 'moanday' but its bright, sunny and lovely. What other way to get fash-inspired. I am not much into skirts but I gotta say I have been lately drawn to 'em....so I am making a pact to blog  more skirt posts.
I wore this outfit over the weekend at my cousins event. I got this skirt a few weeks back, twas a perfect fit....I did not change a thing about it. I had an urge to make it a pencil skirt but oh well thought I would first try it out long....so it came in handy for that event. I especially loved the side slit....it add some sexy to the skirt...you know flash some lil' leg.
I paired it up with a lace blouse.....which I had to literally overturn my closet to find, I got it a while ago but forgot about it till I needed it...quite a bad habit I have developed....it seemed the perfect fit....I tucked it in then was on the prowl for a belt. I could not get any that befitted my outfit.....so I went for a tangerine neck piece and tied it at the back and voila! it was just perfect.
My accessories were popping......I went for a nubian queen head look with the head and Egyptian inspired drop earrings. My purse was small and African print....then, added strappy nude sandals and was ready to strut.

                                             Lace top- H&M

Hallo fashionettes...been a long minute right? Well my camera decided to die on me so I had to sit it out for a few days till i got a rescue. Anywho I've missed blogging and I pray there will be no more hiatus....so lets get to business....I have been meaning to try out the print on print trend and I got the chance yesterday as it was very sunny and summer-ish
I was on my thrifting escapades when I saw this skirt....this chic was trying it on and oh my....was I wishing she would not buy it. So after a gruesome 30 minutes she finally let it go and trust me I jumped on it so fast the girl was puzzled......c'mon if you love shopping yo know what am talking about. The polka dot is so playful...it was a perfect fit and it was midi....what more could a girl ask for.
I decided to take a fash risk and combine it with this animal print tee....I love its fit and its so ideal for the hot weather without being too sheer....I find it a lil' bit flirty.
Basically...I went just for a simple tee with a skirt....Its amazing how much print can change an outfit. That's why I went for a solid hot pink pump to break the busy outfit and carried a white envelope clutch.
I love playing around with this brooch and this time round I minimised a very bareback tee...I held it together to make some vavavum out of it and make it more comfortable for me to wear it....as I am very conscious about revealing too much skin.

Happy easter dolls! Quite a long weekend it was and i loved everybit of it especially since I had to be with family....and actually had the chance to meet my great aunts, uncles, cousins.....t'was awesome. Since it was such an event, I went for a subtle yet respectable  look and hence dorned this Kitenge print tuxedo jacket from my designs.
I paired it up with these knife-pleated pallazo pants and my cropped white button up shirt. I accesorised the shirt with a vintage sun shaped brooch, added no more jewellery since the african is busy.
I finished the look with peach pumps and a matching belt. The sunglasses,, i totally love especially coz of the round structure and cat eyed edges.
The animal print detail on the inside of the shoe is adorbs.
Since I am always on a style prowl with my camera, I had to capture these looks below;
My lil' sister was looking all adorable in this batik bubble dress she designed for herself with black suede platforms.
My gorge cousin killed it with this polka dot blue and white dress, a red bold lip, yellow purse and gold flat peeptoes. She looked like she stepped out of a 70's movie scene.
Finally my baby sister in a grey frock, black tights and gladiator sandals

I don't do preppy looks often but this time I decided to go all out and incorporate a bow tie and colored geeks.
This was my Saturday wear for a friend's event and I totally love the pin  striped white and blue blazer. The weather was a ishy with the sun getting hot and dull at the same time so it was a struggle to find the perfect lighting for the pictures
I did a lil' bit color blocking with the crazy green button up shirt, green shorts and hot pink pointy pumps
I balanced the craziness with a black patent purse
